How to Eliminate Humidity in the Loft?

With high humidity, breathing becomes difficult in loft rooms and the risk of the appearance of moulds, which are harmful to our immune system, increases. Ideal humidity in rooms is around 45 to 55%. Anything above this limit may lead to problems in the loft.

Excessive humidity in loft rooms can be eliminated also by applying the Nano Coat System active building material.

Thanks to this special mixture developed with nanotechnology, you can tackle the problems with humidity effectively. By applying it to the walls, a thermal reflective layer is formed which reflects thermal radiation back to the room but permeates water vapour. It removes excessive humidity and, consequently, prevents the appearance of moulds. Its application prevents the condensation of moisture on the surface of the walls and the ceilings, so the walls can breathe naturally. The product is hypoallergenic and its surface is antibacterial. Therefore, if there is a kitchen, a bedroom, a children’s bedroom or a pantry in your loft, the Nano Coat System is an ideal solution because of its antibacterial qualities.


Which Places Should the Material be Applied to in the Loft?

Apply the Nano Coat System to all the walls and the ceiling of the loft room. You can apply it also to all the circumferential walls (facade, external walls) or to the places where thermal bridges are present. Also to the reveals of the windows and the balcony door.

Nano Coat System consists of: 

Nano PT - represents deep penetration that stabilizes the foundations. It is used for absorbent cohesive surfaces and is applied with a brush or roller.

Nano AM - it is used on all other surfaces where we can not use Nano PT. Thus, non-absorbent cohesive surfaces such as glass, iron and others. Apply with a brush or roller.

Nano TC - it is used to repair holes, cracks and small irregularities of size up to 3-4mm.

Nano Coat Homethe final layer of mass applied by a stainless comb trowel to a pre-treated, smooth surface of about 2 mm thick. After drying, grind the surface with sandpaper.

Apply in the following order: 

 1. Nano PT or Nano AM,

2. Nano TC, if necessary to repair the surface,

3. final layer Nano Coat Home.
