How to Prevent the Appearance of Moulds around the Extractor Hood in the Kitchen?

During cooking, vapours are produced which increase the overall humidity of the room. This stimulates the growth of moulds because these conditions are ideal for them. One of the places most frequently attacked by moulds is the area around the extractor hood where vapours condense on the wall, which the extractor is unable to evacuate. Since moulds are very dangerous to health, this problem has to be tackled in the very beginning because moulds release spores which cause respiratory infections, cough, skin diseases or allergic reactions.

Treat the walls as a preventive measure and eliminate the risk of the appearance of moulds in the very beginning. The solution is to apply the Nano Coat System building material. 

The Nano Coat System has been developed with special technology based on nanostructures. This permeable material ensures the natural breathing of the walls and enables the passage of water vapour through the structure. At the same time, it prevents the condensation of water vapours on the surface of the walls, reducing the risk of the appearance of moulds. The system is suitable to all the rooms where food is present, since it complies with the EU requirements for the certification of food contact materials and has an antibacterial surface. Also, it absorbs the odours produced during cooking.



Which Places Should the Material be Applied to in the Kitchen?

The system can be applied to all the walls of the kitchen, including the ceiling. We recommend applying it also around the extractor hood to treat the walls as a preventive measure and eliminate the risk of the appearance of moulds. Another
advantage of the system is its applicability to non-absorbent surfaces, such as wall tiles, floor tiles, marble, glass etc.

Nano Coat System consists of: 

Nano PT - represents deep penetration that stabilizes the foundations. It is used for absorbent cohesive surfaces and is applied with a brush or roller.

Nano AM - it is used on all other surfaces where we can not use Nano PT. Thus, non-absorbent cohesive surfaces such as glass, iron and others. Apply with a brush or roller.

Nano TC - it is used to repair holes, cracks and small irregularities of size up to 3-4mm.

Nano Coat Homethe final layer of mass applied by a stainless comb trowel to a pre-treated, smooth surface of about 2 mm thick. After drying, grind the surface with sandpaper.

 

Apply in the following order: 

 1. Nano PT or Nano AM,

2. Nano TC, if necessary to repair the surface,

3. final layer Nano Coat Home.
